In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Program

In vitro fertilization, or IVF, is a medical process that fertilizes an egg with sperm outside of the body. The process begins by stimulating a woman’s ovulation, usually with hormone therapy. The egg is then extracted from the ovaries and fertilized with sperm. The fertilized egg is then cultured for a period of 2-6 days and then implanted in the uterus. The hope is that the fertilized egg will take hold in the uterus, resulting in a successful pregnancy.

Upstate Medical University and University OB/GYN Associates are committed to providing the latest and most up-to-date reproductive care possible. We understand that IVF can cause immense financial and emotional strain. This is why we have a staff of skilled professionals to guide you through the evaluation and treatment process and help you achieve a healthy pregnancy and baby.
